The length of a Russian tsar coat, the elegance of the camel, the grit of a garment surprisingly trendy. Here is the “Camel coat”, a long camel coat . Must-have for winter 2015.
I initially bought the coat you see in photos with idea of matching it with a pair of snakeskin boots and a white dress, a look very stylish and elegant but as soon as I saw it hanging in my closet, I could not resist to wear it with baggy jeans and converse; a wool pullover under my jacket and so I was able to quickly get an outfit fashionable but also comfortable and warm.
The camel is a color that gives elegance, it’s chic and sophisticated, it’s easy to mach, it’s a timeless color that even this year triumphs and topped the chart of indispensable items. From ocher colored to soft biscuit passing from sand, on many catwalks for years , without ever falling out of fashion.
But when was it born ?
The Camel coat was worn for the first time by the man stars of the ’30s and later entered into the female wardrobe thanks to divas like Greta Garbo. But for the great success we have to wait the 70’s and Marlon Brando in the famous film “Last Tango in Paris”.
Impossible not mentioning Max Mara, who over the years has revisited and updated it, made several times protagonist of her shop windows in the most important streets of the city of fashion, accompanying it , by the hand, to the great triumph in 2015.
