You know that colors affect man’s mood and psyche ?
Yes, there is a real “psychology of colours” that studies the effects that they have on human beings and it’s also used as a therapy.
Man has the ability to recognize by the naked eye over 2000 different shades of color. Scientific research proves that 87% of all perceived impressions we get through the world of colors.
The interest and attention to the world of colors have always existed and are a universal characteristic. They have equal prominence for all, regardless of gender, age, ethnicity.
Each color has its own meaning, which is not the result of the invention of a few scholars, but has its roots in the most remote history.
Colors can teach you about yourself. Each individual has their own favorite color regardless of fashions and trends. Likewise, preferences or waste may also change during the life, according to the emotional states. The color chosen in a particular time may provide a key to the subjective dimension. Also the influence of color on human health and mind. It’s the assumption behind the chromotherapy an alternative medicine of ancient origins that in recent years had a significant development.
The researcher Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925) opened his first school of chromotherapy in Stuttgart in 1919, where he applied his studies of the effects of colors on people, developing the color boards. Steiner provided different color boards for age groups.
As in alternative medicine, also in marketing the colors play an important role, not surprisingly certain products are created with a certain color, to capture the consumer emotionally and cause a major impact on consumer choices. Have you ever noticed that in politics are often worn blue ties?
But starting from my today’s outfit in which I wear a green skirt, let’s find out what are the effects and sensations that are attributable to green.
Max Lüscher has developed the “Test of the colors”. According to Lüscher, the attraction or repulsion, compared to the colors and color combinations, based on the determined character and emotional expressions that everyone has towards life.
In the abbreviated version of this test it’s used a single table with eight prominent colors: the four primary colors (blue, yellow, red and green) and the four Auxiliary colors (purple, brown, gray and black).
Green is considered the color of nature par excellence, inspires growth, fertility, harmony, hope. Green is also associated with jealousy, only negative feature attached to this color.
It defines the color of health. With the green we try to treat the jitters and hysteria because of its calming effect on nervous system, it has a positive influence in times of fatigue, it helps with migraines.
Green is vitality, hope, defense, evokes the need for self-esteem and self-assertion. It represents perseverance and self-confidence. It is an expression of firmness, resistance to change, constancy. The archetype of the green is the tree.
Green is the color of the ego, those who choose it, choose the affirmation of their individuality, those who refuse it , are afraid of the limitations, impositions and constraints.
I’ve never got to share pictures with you, green is the color that I had chosen during the dress that I wore during the party for my 18 years (now well over 5 years ago), I didn’t make a research on the “psychology of colours” at the time, but I loved the tone of that dress.
In conclusion, the green expresses the need to support themselves, the willingness to work, tenacity, perseverance, stubbornness, that’s why I decided to dedicate an article to this colorand that’s why it is always been a color that I love deeply .
