Come with me to discover “my kitchen”

Today I lead you with me to discover a room in the house where I live with my parents and my sweet puppy dog, to be exact “the kitchen”.

What do you think about this part of house, existent in every home but always interpreted in so different ways ?

Central core of some house, careful and innovative study of designers, whereas in others it’s a considerable amount of space only for its necessary functionality, sometimes even excluded from the program of renovation work.

About this subject, I have a median position, it’s not one of the rooms that I find most fascinating in a house, I much prefer lounges and room, but I think that kitchen is the room in which, perhaps more than ever, you can breathe the scent of family, of home, and I’m not referring to food but to the tradition of sharing, of being together.

It’s in the kitchen or dining room that families, more or less numerous they are, choose to carve out a moment of the day to spend it all at once, with the first meal of the day in the morning or with the last one in the evening.

The constant sharing of that piece of time makes this space homely, friendly and familiar more than ever.

It’s rather bizarre, if you think about it, the co-existence and prevalence in the same space of house of tradition and technological process, considering that usually there are multiple electrical appliances in kitchen. Tradition and modernity merge in a shared space.

When I chose to photopraph the kitchen, I immediately thought to want it not static in the midst of the activities. I started to spread flour and powdered sugar, I filled the table of desserts (which we greedily ate as a snack after the photos ^^) and I tried to make the domestic environment joyful and lively.

The brilliant Fabio Bernardini immediately understood the spirit of the picture and he managed to make my idea perfectly.

The prevailing tones in the kitchen are the cream and the burgundy. There is an English-style cooking block, with 5 cookers, a Smeg fridge and all the furniture was made to measure, except for an antique sideboard that has been adapted chromatically to the kitchen.

The wood alternates with travertine marble, and the hood is made of masonry, with the inclusion of a large wooden beam of the twentieth century.

In some pictures I’m here too, you see me struggling with the preparation of a cake, a delight to which I usually devote my free time.
